Getty Images Aaron and I were talking yesterday that we needed an official BSOHL logo or picture or something — it’s all about branding these days — but neither of us have any graphics chops. If anyone gets bored and wants to help us out in this regard, feel free to send it via the “Feedback” button over in the upper right. We can’t pay you for your work, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.
Anyway, we have another one. It’s Evan Longoria. And while he doesn’t actually say he’s in the BSOHL, if you have an entire article devoted to your conditioning in the month of February, and if the word “plyometrics” is used, that’s a BSOHL post, buddy:
After spending the past two offseasons bulking up in workouts, Longoria is 10 to 15 pounds leaner and considerably looser, emphasizing flexibility over strength in an effort to avoid the muscle injuries (hamstring, quadriceps, oblique) that have sidelined him during the past two seasons … Instead of lifting weights, Longoria focused on plyometrics (muscle stretching and explosiveness) …”

Thanks to Longoria, every team in the AL East has a BSOHL representative. I think that’s BINGO, or something.

The Lineup
CF Guitierrez
RF Heyward
DH Cabrera
3B Longoria
1B Teixera
LF Cespedes
‘SS’ Tejada
’2B’ McGehee
C OlivioBench:
3B, SS, 2B, Hall
1B, ’3B’ ‘RF–hhahahaha’ Huff
OF Fowler
1B Smoak
1B, ’3B’ Dmitri (Viking) Young
1B Freeman
1B AlonzoS1: Garcia
S2: Cecil
S3: Hughes
S4: Zambrano
S5 TillmanCL: Brian Wilson
S1: Vicente “Headhunter” Padilla
S2: C GuittierezLongoria really really makes that team better. Suddenly, we have defense on the left side of the infield. and Cespedes in the 6-hole makes that lineup deep. I might even move Fowler into LF and take advantage of his ridiculous range.
We’re still short a ‘SS’ with more range than a Kelvinator. and a 2B. But this team would dominate most any division offensively, while it wouldn’t do much on the run prevention with that staff or infield defense.

Kopy, it is beyond tempting to try and field that squad in fantasy baseball. Nearly everyone would be an easy guy to draft, too. Stop tempting me via my sense of ‘rooting for the old guy’! I will not give in to sentimentality! …Oh, hell, I might just do it…

What would be the opening day lineup for the BSOHL team.
My picks:
C – Olivo
1B – Teixeira
2B – ?
3B – Longoria
SS – Tejada
LF – Heyward
CF – F. Gutierrez
RF – Cespedes
DH – Cabrera
SP – Garcia
CL – Wilson
I don’t know who would slot in at second, probably Bill Hall if he ever makes the team. For now I guess I would try Fowler. This team has a lot of 1B and 3B.
Any thoughts?

everyone is opting for Olivo, but now we have to consider Yadi, as well.
especially IF he’s in BSOHL, as just revealed in Aaron’s current post.

This meme is most certainly not in the best shape of its life. It probably should’ve retired long, long ago.
