Sold! Jose Reyes’ hair goes for $10,200 on eBay

UPDATE: After a total of 50 bids the auction is over and Reyes’ hair went for $10,200.

Jose Reyes got his dreadlocks cut live on MLB Network last week and now his hair is being auctioned off on eBay for charity.

And with two days remaining the price is already up over $6,000. Seriously.

Proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation in South Florida, which will at least make the winning bidder’s story slightly less creepy when he tells people at parties. Or says to himself while wearing Reyes’ dreadlocks in the comfort of his dungeon. Whichever.

    Somewhere, Brian Wilson is smiling…

I’m guessing it’s Craig. He’ll probably glue it to his Reyes bobblehead to turn it into a voodoo doll or something, and have it next to all the other bobbleheads, not too far from the bubble pipe and Phanatic rug.

He might do a Buffalo Bill and make it his “own” hair. Creepy.

Gator has gotten drunk and stolen Craig’s credit card.

I’m going to get drunk, steal Aaron’s card, and buy him this:

      • kiwicricket - Feb 7, 2012 at 1:38 PM

Aaron is going to get drunk if he sees his purchase.

You say that as if he wasn’t drunk already.

Somewhere there’s a bitter Mets fan awaiting the final piece of his life size Reyes voodoo doll…

  6. surefooted1 - Feb 8, 2012 at 4:46 PM

Hopefully, the winner will be a Marlins fan who will make a voodoo doll from the locks and prick it whenever Reyes acts like a douche…

      Totally. Charity really sucks, eh?

      • metalhead65 - Feb 8, 2012 at 8:47 PM

the guy just signed for how many millions of dollars but he can’t just donate his own money he has to auction off his hair? well I guess 10 grand of somebody’s else’s is better than spending your own money and you still get credit since was your hair.

      • cur68 - Feb 8, 2012 at 9:41 PM

Reyes, like many other MLB players donate time and money to all sorts of charitable projects. In addition to that he had to give up his dreds and saw to it that “make a wish” got the money that it generated. HOW are you managing to be such an ass to guy doing a charitable thing? Do you know how many ball players got haircuts and didn’t do ANYTHING with the clippings? I’m gonna guess and say all of them BUT Jose Reyes. Prove me wrong (if you can). Do you know how many of them got million dollar raises this off season and gave none of it to charity? I’m gonna say a significant portion of them did that. At least Reyes can say he saw to it 10G was raised for a worthy cause. Did you raise 10G for a worthy cause?

The Phillie Phanatic won them. Can’t wait to see what he does with them when the Feeesh come to town.

The money goes to charity? I figured he’d use it to buy new hamstrings.
