Seems like he’s getting White Jew preferential treatment. If this was anybody else that suspension would’ve been handed out 3 weeks ago. I’m sure MLB is trying to find any way possible to grant the pardon without looking suspicious.

I would use this case among others the next time they got together for a labor deal. Mlb has proven they cannot abide by the terms of the drug testing policy so i think this is rather a larger issue than most may think. At this point they need to find out how to keep information like this confidential if they cannot prove they can do that then there needs to be a change to the format.

Not exactly true. The rule basically says that player negligence will not be an accepted excuse. ie. If the player could have found out that what he was taking contained a banned substance but failed to do so, then he is guilty.

The story I read used tainted organic milk as an example. I have no idea how or if that would affect one’s testosterone production, but the MLB does not expect players to test every piece of food that they eat for contamination.

I believe that the leak of this information is a direct violation of the CBA. The process is supposed to be confidential. Not only were the test results revealed before the appeal process, but so was personal medical information which is in violation of HIPPA regulations. If a hospital had done this they would be open to a huge law suit. I think there is some negotiating going on. If the process isn’t going to be confidential then the players will not buy into it. That is a huge problem for the league.

Plus, the point should be to get it right, not to do it fast. If, for some reason, those 25 days do not allow them to make a decision they are 100% comfortable with and they feel that a little more time will help with that…there is no harm in waiting.

New theory, MLB wants a 100% vote either way, either he is 100% guilty or 100% not guilty, and will hold off as long as possible to obtain that verdict since they couldn’t keep the whole process confindental as should have been.

I get the people that dont want braun to play the 1st 50 games because he destroys the centrals best pitching. But if he is to be suspended, then make it a worthy suspension. And if it turns out he did it w/ the intension to cheat, id say take the mvp award back. But love him or hate him, he is one of baseballs best and i think the only ones getting screwed are the fans. Braun isnt going to starve and i honestly believe that mlb has a whole lot of egg on their face right now by letting this test result leak, and that mlb is doing everything possible to make this right and that, in my opinion is why there is no deadline. Good news for the Brewers and the fans. There is a zero tolerance policy so if they could have burried him, then the guilty verdict would already have been handed out and none of us would be talking about this right now.

Honestly, this whole saga has me really intrigued. The fact that this reached the light of day at this point has to mean that there is at least a good chance that Braun is innocent… I wouldnt hold out TOO much hope as a Brewer fan, but you should have a little there.

Um, sounds like bullish!t to me. My understanding is that penalties are served without the consideration of mitigating factors. In other words, if it’s in your body, your guilty, period. Zero tolerance, as it should be, IMO.

I hope it gets overturned. How great would that be? Not a Brewers fan but baseball is better when Braun is playing, and it would serve as a great cautionary tale for rushing to judgment like the people who wanted his MVP taken away.
