What young players? The Orioles always talk about “the future is bright” with their young players… but I have yet to see ANY of them.

Is he going to corrupt the overrated MArkakis? The never on the field, old-man Brian Roberts? Free swinging Adam Jones? Strikeout King Mark Reynolds? Swing at anything below the ankles or above the head Vladamir Guerrero?

Seriously, what damage can he possibly do to the Baltimore Orioles?

I don’t care what your personal feelings are about Manny Ramirez.

The issue here is that the Orioles ownership still refuses to actually try and win. The Marlins might cut costs every once in a while and clean house, they might send amazing talent to other teams in the form of cheaper prospects. But every few years, they try to be competitive. And that’s WITHOUT much fan support. Without nearly the same kind of fan support a winning or even competitive team in Baltimore would bring.

Who is the Orioles designated hitter going to be this year?!? Does anyone on their team bat above .300? They were amazingly lucky to get .280 from free-swining Adam Jones last year. And he was the “highlight.” JJ Hardy a possible 2nd.

Manny could EASILY help this joke of an organization. If nothing else, it creates interest and talk for a few weeks. In that park, and with the divisions highly overrated pitching… I’m sure he could perform pretty well at the plate. If you’ve seen the Orioles outfielders… I doubt Manny could do much worse defensively.

After however many(is it 14 now?) consecutive losing seasons… I don’t think the Orioles can cross anyone off their list of who “fits.” I’m pretty sure anyone fits when you suck that bad. Anyone is an improvement just by default, just by the fact that at least you’re TRYING to change something.

As long as the guy is clean and plans to stay that way I wouldn’t mind manny coming and being a bench hitter. He could also show the younger guys and some of the losers how to hit. Add that with the fact he played some of his best ball working with Charlie. Perhaps a bench of former Indians isnt such a bad thing.

Then again I never want to hear a player on my team is on the juice ( I know they all are, but manny is dumb enough to get caught )
