What am I talking about?

First, errors and fielding % are useless because of the subjective nature of errors and the fact that anything a player can't get to is a hit (when a better fielder would have turned it into an out). Markakis has poor range, in the bottom 1/2 of UZR and DRS for RF.

Second, RF is an offensive position. Markakis had one of the lowest wRC+ and wOBA of RF last year. Batting average is an extremely incomplete way to summarize offensive production.

Third, combine offense, defense, and base running and Markakis ranked 18th of 23 qualified RF with a WAR of 2.2.

To summarize, any way you measure it, Markakis was one of the worst everyday RF in the majors last year

Can they let their pitcher bat and assign the designated hitter to Cespedes' slot in the order? Because if this guy hits ML pitching like he did in winter ball, they might well get more production out of their lineup that way....

Because Jones has not progressed for the last couple of years in the field or at the plate (career .318 OBP, ouch), because Cespedes has never even faced AA-quality pitching in his life, and because Markakis was one of the worst everyday RF in the league last year.

They might have the all upside outfield...but it won't resemble anything like the best or most productive OF.

Why are people down-voting this? Yes it's the Orioles, but an outfield of these three players would be incredibly athletic and fun to watch.
