Jake Westbrook is in The Best Shape of His Life

Feb 14, 2012, 2:30 PM EDT

A few days ago I was lamenting the fact that we may be nearing the end of BSOHL season, but then I remembered that it really peaks when spring training starts and the writers tweet about players’ bodies a lot.  Like this:

This BSHOL may be a bit premature — he should give an interview talking about it or have a feature story done on it first — but if he has truly lost 25 pounds, that is almost certainly the Best Shape of His Life.

Wouldn’t this actually be the playoff run for BSOHL?

Confirmation of this is all that is needed, but it is premature for now. Tons of guys are probably telling their women-folk today that they look “about 25 pounds lighter…super trim.” If someone confirms the weight loss then, as Carl Weathers would say, “Baby, you got a stew goin!”

I am more interested in a BERAOHL story on Westbrook….but I don’t see that one happening.

Kind of pathetic that these guys aren’t ripped for being 25-50 lbs overweight the season before. They’re not nose tackles, they should be expected to stay in some kind of shape for the money they make.
