MLB has released nothing official about any of this. So it is “rumored” that he tested positive for something.

Randy, what if the mitigating factor is that the testing protocol was not followed with his samples and he has proof of it? Then he says he didn’t EVER dope, not he “accidentally” took something. IMO, his defense has nothing to do with herpes or mistakenly ingesting roids. He has proof that the protocol was not followed which would void the test results. Unfortunately, this would not clear his name.

While you may be thinking of body builds of a steroid user, You should think of the person, does Braun seem like a guy that would knowingly and willingly would disrespect and tarnish the game?

In my opinion, I don’t think so. I don’t think he is at the same level as people like Canseco or others.

I also hope this gets cleared up sooner rather than later, because I don’t think that MLB needs or wants this cloud over thier head going into the regular season.

Also the Cubs vs. Brewers game in April got moved to ESPN. Does anyone think someone knows something all ready?

I’m not really sure how many times I’ve heard or read this actually, but it’s “many times” at least.

“The 2011 National League MVP tested positive in early October for “insane levels” of synthetic testosterone ”

“synthetic testosterone” that’s exactly what he tested positive for.

Joey, he was found with never-seen-before, elevated levels of synthetic (man made in a laboratory) testosterone. Now you know what he had in him. Some are trying to sparse the how and why. Notwithstanding MLB’s policy is zero tolerance, REGARDLESS of any and all mitigating factors.

To clarify two points:

1) I am not saying that Braun used, like everyone else in the world except for Braun, I don’t know.

2) Yes, there are cases in which it is clear that steroids have been used (e.g. 35 yr old baseball players that put on 20 lbs of muscle during an off-season, a 35 yr old body simply doesn’t produce enough testosterone to allow that kind of change), but most of the time you can not tell by looking at the body (or the numbers).

Have you not figured out yet that there is no such thing as a prototypical steroid user? More than 1/2 those testing positive have been pitchers (almost none of whom would be described as buff), and many position players that tested positive have been skinny little guys.

I still haven’t found a report that says exactly what he tested positive for.. I’m sorry I don’t see Ryan Braun as the prototypical steroid user
