All baseball fans should mourn Carter’s passing because he was what we want all players to be. Mets and Expos fans were lucky to have him in his prime and the great memories he gave them. The rest of us were just lucky to see him play and make it to the HoF.

For all of us outside New York please post a picture in HBT tonight. Would make a nice reminder of the Kid as a screensaver.

Granted, it’s not Montreal, but the franchise for which Carter played 12 seasons still honors him. RIP, Gary.
