True to his word, Carlos Beltran will pay for Jon Niese’s nose job

Jon Niese showed up to spring training earlier this week with a reconstructed schnoz, relaying the story of how former Mets teammate Carlos Beltran encouraged him to get a nose job and even offered to pay for the operation.

That was before Beltran got traded to the Giants around midseason, but apparently he’s living up to his end of the bargain.

Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post Dispatch talked to Beltran, who’s now with the Cardinals, and the outfielder has received the bill from Niese and “will pay later this spring.”

I’m really hoping that getting a nose job paid for by a co-worker catches on, because I have too much nose and Calcaterra has too much money. It would be a perfect solution.

He’s gonna want your hair in return, Gleeman. Don’t take the dough. Besides, y’know what they say about guys with big noses, eh? Its free advertizing to women of shallow morals, a certain amount of turpitude, and an adventurous disposition.

As to Beltran & Niese: one of the complications from cleft palate can be poor breathing, especially nasally. If this does improve Niese’s respiratory status, I’m amazed it wasn’t suggested and carried out years ago. Nasal obstruction = sleep apnea for many people, which can’t be good for your pitching skillz. Good for Beltran for helping out a teammate.

Is there an operation to remove the thought from grown men’s heads that adding a “z” to the end of plural words is cool? If so, I’m willing to foot the bill for you, Cur.

Is there an operation for removing the douche from people who get on the internet and tell others how to spell and grammarz? If so I’d foot that one (really, really, REALLY hard) for youz. Cheerz.

Cur, if you can tell us how to think, we can tell you how to use grammar.

        Seems fair to me.

If Niese happens to have a breakout season, imagine all of the players that will want to get nose jobs. I almost hope he does that, as I would find the coverage of that hilarious.

Nice job of Beltran following through. Hope it helps Niese. If Niese improves and lands a nice contract down the road, will he pay it forward and pay for someone else to have a nose job?

That would mean that the in off-season we would have BNOHL posts.

Aaron why don’t you start with getting a car first and then work up to the nose jobs?

  5. phukyouk - Feb 23, 2012 at 11:59 AM

man oh man… it turns out that there was a HUGE miscommunication here. Beltran didn’t say NOSE job.
