Sure Pujols can play third. I mean, he played there a decade ago with numerous foot and shoulder problems. Probably 30 pounds heavier, too. Why not?

I’d be more worried about Pujol’s elbow and range than his hitting at 3B.

That’s very diplomatic of Scioscia, but Pujols is the player who’s hitting I’d worry about the least following a position change. He played 1B, 3B, LF and RF as a rookie, and I think he’s been okay since.

That is not at all hyperbole. Over the last three seasons, Miguel Cabrera has the highest wOBA in baseball. If you polled GMs or players asking who is the best hitter in baseball, there would be a lot of support for Cabrera.

Cabrera hasn’t been the best hitter in baseball for even a single year, not once. Yeah, he’s great, but let’s shelve the hyperbole.

Who did Inge complain to anyway? Wasn’t there just a report that said they didn’t think he would be happy since he was losing his job? I don’t remember seeing a single complaint from Inge…..and if he wasn’t happy about losing his job, that makes him just like every other MLB player.

Cabrera is the superstar of the Tigers and best hitter in baseball and he had no complaints moving over to third base for Fielder. Pujols is a team player in the same respect. Then you Have guys like Brandon Inge who have sucked their whole career and will complain if they can’t play where they want to.

its nice to hear a star athlete with a 250 million dollar contract willing to play wherever his manager wants him to play reagrdless if its not his best position. This is in stark contrast to the last player to sign a 250 million dollar contract (Arod) who by all accounts is not a team player and never wanted to play 3b (sarcasm)
