Be easy on him. He is a stay at home Dad with four ( that’s 4) daughters. Given that I think he looks pretty good.

A hip injury ended Belle’s career. Makes you wonder if the old man walks with a cane now.

MASN is showing the top 20 games in Oriole Park history for the 20th anniversary of the park. Yesterday they re-ran number nine, which was the Turn-Ahead-The-Clock game against the Angels on July 25, 1999. It is also the day Belle hit three homers, including one with two outs in the ninth off of Troy Percival.

He was a beast when the Orioles signed him, and a beast his first year. It’s just such a shame he got hurt.

Carlos Baerga, like Ruben Sierra, was putting together a Hall of Fame type career early on, but then declined rapidly. Had Belle remained healthy, he could have put together impressive career numbers. The Cleveland teams of the 90s came close to winning it all, don’t believe the Tribe has won a world title since 1948.

When I did my MLB stadium tour across America back in ’93, I ended up in Cleveland for the summer solstice. The longest day of the year had the Indians facing the Brewers in a game between 6th and 7th place teams. 2-1 “night” ballgame, won by a Baerga base hit, and ended before the sun finished setting.

Ah, to be young and free and visiting Cleveland.
