Its just a shame, the kid could have learned to throw strikes in the minors if he had the chance. You dont learn to do that on the MLB level, throwing strikes is second to locating your pitch. Cabrera was behind the curve, he was never given a chance to develop. THe O's prefer to rush young big names to the pro's to appease the fans rather than adequately staffing their system with proven arms that can give you innings. THus they havent produced a proven SP since Mike Mussina. Another wasted talent Sidney Ponson pitched 1 game in AAA before being called up at the age of 21,,,,ridiculous

If he makes the team and gets in the rotation they'll have two starters that will throw a lot of wild pitches, Cabrera and A.J. Burnett. Cabrera always had control issues and need I say anymore about A.J.?

Is he 6'7" or 6'9"? Back in May of 299 he started a game against Randy Johnson and this article -- Morning Juice: Big Unit, Cabrera stand up, count as tallest ever --
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Morning-Juice-Big-Unit-Cabrera-stand-up-count?urn=mlb,162765 -- claimed they set the MLB record for the tallest combined starting pitchers at 163 inches with Johnson 6'10" and
Cabrera 6'9" besting the previous record of 162" set by Cabrera and Mark Hendrickson (6'9") on 9/1/2004.

Baseball-reference.com and ESPN list him at 6'7"

Btw, I grabbed gamelogs from retrosheet.org and player data from baseball-databank.org and found what might be the shortest combined starters to be Larry Corcoran 5' 3" and Jack Neagle 5' 6" for 129" on 5/30/1883.
