Good news for the Braves this morning, as Tommy Hanson threw off a mound for the first time since suffering a minor concussion in a one-car accident on the way to spring training.

Hanson was initially expected to miss just a day or two, but as is so often the case with concussions the absence proved much longer and he ended up sitting out more than a week.

He had to pass several tests before being cleared to throw and, barring more symptoms, David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Hanson could face live hitters as soon as Friday.
