Easy to lavish all the negativity towards Carl Crawford? Too many RS ‘fans’ I know exhibit this behavior. They call out a guy that actually cared, worked hard and took accountability. Stating the obvious, he did have the non-Carl Crawford aberration of a year, last year. He knows that better than anyone.

I am so grateful to have a hard working guy on the team. This guy was just starting to swing. Just given the green light to start some swinging, not a lot of it. The next day he felt soreness and I believe, it was either that day or the next, Bobby V. had him bunting like crazy. That’s when he had the setback.

Harold, you hit the nail on the head. I really don’t care how much Carl Crawford gets paid. It is a non-issue for me and out of my hands. The RS organization, however, ought to care more about the players if they want production for their money.

Well look on the bright side Red Sox Fans. Who ever replaces Crawford for the Month of April has to be better then he was in April 2011.

Carl Soriano is right. Bunting probably didn’t make it no better. Hopefully stealing $140 million is good for the wrist.

It makes you wonder just how bad is that wrist.

If I’m a card carrying member of the Nation I’m worried. It seems that he pressed too hard last season to live up to his contract which lead to a sub par year. Now he pushes too hard gets injured then pushes to return to quickly and makes things worse. While it’s laudable that he feels the need to play you wonder if the expectations of the new contract, .. added to the sub par year, .. added to this injury and setback will start haring a cumulative effect.

He needs to take a step back, .. and be patient. This is the kind of injury that if not dealt with correctly could easily become a season long issue, .. resulting in another sub par year more self imposed pressure, .. to say nothing of how the Nation is going to react if he starts late and poorly. It’s not going to get better if they start booing him every time he comes to the plate.

Unless RS handle this correctly this could effectively wad up another season for Crawford. You’d think they’d take better care of their 140 Mil investment. After the Elisbury debacle a couple of seasons ago you have to wonder whether it’s the players or the organization.
