I didn’t say that the other outlets were always 100% accurate. They all might twist a stat here and there. However, FOX does it much more egregiously and often.

As for unemployment, I know quite a few people who have been downsized or rightsized or streamlined or whatever the hell euphemism for being tossed out on their a$$ is being thrown around nowadays. More than a few of them have been forced to take the extension (which you do have to register for, by the way, so you can go ahead and not do that if you want) due to not finding work after six months of benefits have run out. And yes, they were actively looking for work. And yes, they do have families to support. And no, they didn’t just accept the funds with no incentive to look for work. And no, the funds didn’t take the place of a paycheck. All they managed to do was get closer to making ends meet, so they could stay in their homes and off the street. So I have absolutely no problem with these extensions, and the claim that they make someone sit on the couch for however long they get the money, in lieu of getting out there and finding a job is all a bunch of hooey being perpetuated by FOX and the right.

Understood Chase. Fox and ONLY Fox has an agenda. Every other news outlet (mainstream or otherwise)…has NO agenda and everything they “report” is truthful. Personally, I think for myself as I fully apprecate that EVERYONE has an agenda. As for the unemployment issue…of course I don’t have an issue with the unemployment benefits specifically. What I have an issue with is the continual extensions of said benefits. They ultimately serve nothing more than providing a crutch that people ultimately never put down. Extending benefits…and extending benefits…and extending them once again provides ZERO incentives to look for work. After all…why should I look for work when that check keeps rollin’ in? And if you think a paltry unemployment check keeps people in their home you are simply not being realistic. What I refer to as fantasy land. As far as me needing it…I am with you. I hope myself…you…or anyone else never needs it. I can tell you one thing with 100% certainty…I would have to look for work immediately as that check doesn’t even come close to paying the bills. But those in other circumstances…if it pays the bills and continually rolls in…I ask you again…what is the incentive?

You have a problem with extending unemployment for people who were caught in the worst economic downturn in who the hell knows how long? You know, the one that was all but caused by deregulation and the crash of the housing market? Especially as a stopgap to prevent worsening the crash by keeping people somewhat close to being able to stay in their homes? Well, I hope you don’t need it then.

And FOX’s agenda just so happens to have a basis in lies and innuendo, and not reality.

I hear what you are saying Sandy. I truly do. But just because they are “saying it” doesn’t actually make it true. No different the Fox, CNN, Yahoo, etc… You think there might just possibly be a different angle? I mean…I form my own opinions because I recognize that EVERY news outlet has an agenda. The difference is…Fox has an agenda different from most of the others. I have started referring to Yahoo as “The Station brought to you by Obama for President.” Agenda’s. Everyone has them. Personally, I think the warm and fuzzy parties agenda is to keep people dependent. The repeated extensions of the unemployment benefits should speak volumes. Cause’ extending them sure as hell isn’t giving anyone the incentive to look for work. By the way…I am coming over to share in the Pizza and Ganja with you and Bravo. We just have to agree to NOT talk politics.

I don’t know about that, Lou. Job numbers have been improving lately, and something tells it not because of prayer. I mean, if we can’t pray away the tornadoes, and if we can’t pray away the gay, then how can we possibly pray successfully for more work?

Anyway, with yesterday’s news that Pat Robertson says to Legalize It, I think it’s official that he and the Pres don’t really think alike.

I know just enough to know that sometimes stuff doesn’t work from platform to platform. I’m also accessing the site from the NBC sportstalk app, not through a browser.
