Dionisio Soldevila of the Dominican newspaper Hoy reports that David Ortiz took a DNA test as part of a paternity case and the results showed that he’s not the father of a 17-year-old boy.

Ortiz claims to have never met the child’s mother and the test revealed a 0.0 percent chance of him being the father.

“It is unfortunate that there are people who pay for such things and make accusations like those made against me,” David told Soldevila, adding that he’s angry about having to spend $100,000 in legal fees while his reputation also suffered.

His reputation suffered? This is the first I, and I imagine many others, have ever heard of this paternity case.

News to me as well. I assume Sox nation was aware. It’s the civilized portion of our population who wasn’t informed until now it seems. BAM!

Ignoring the snideness, honestly as a Red Sox fan this is news to me as well. This might have been something that was pretty well centered to dominican republic

Ignoring the lame attempt at a joke……Im a Sox fan and I had not heard of this until now. I listen to sports radio daily on my commute and it hasnt been reported once.

      • El Bravo - Mar 9, 2012 at 4:17 PM

It was lame, snide and marginally funny, I admit. I’m not as good at bashing Boston fans as Philly fans. I’ll stick to what I know. Suck it Philly.

Bobby the Batterer Cox. Now that’s what I call civilized.

      • El Bravo - Mar 9, 2012 at 5:20 PM

Are you inferring no one on the Red Sox has ever been a douchebag off the field? I wonder if there are character limits on these comments…b/c this would be a long one.

      • drewzducks - Mar 9, 2012 at 5:53 PM

No dumbass, just hypocrites. I imagine at about the same time Bobby was smacking his wife around in Atlanta, Wil Cordero was doing the same thing in Boston.

There’s this, which seems a little closer to Jerry Sandusky than Bobby Cox or Wil Cordero on the Unacceptable Behavior Scale.–spt.html

When you go out to watch replays of yourself on cable, you go to bars. When you go to bars, you meet sluts in bars. When you meet sluts in bars, you get accused of fathering their bastard child. When you get accused of fathering their bastard child, you spend $100-grand on legal defense. Don’t spend $100 grand on legal defense. Get rid of cable. Get Direct TV.

Not sure about the logic employed here, but I like it nonetheless. Thumbs up for you! That said, I ditched both and went rabbit ears/netflix and it works out just dandy. Further, boobz.

He is not quite at Shawn Kemp status yet…

Seriously, who would claim they had slept with David Ortiz? Ick.

      • vivabear - Mar 9, 2012 at 3:04 PM

Good to get your perspective…you have my vote for comment of the day

      • vivabear - Mar 9, 2012 at 4:54 PM

So the three people (so far) thumbing down Stacey’s comment must want to bang David Ortiz?

But is David Ortiz his real name?

    • vivabear - Mar 9, 2012 at 3:26 PM

Maybe…but he used to be David Arias when the Twins had him.

  9. churchoftheperpetuallyoutraged - Mar 9, 2012 at 3:17 PM

The fact that no one has linked this yet really disturbs me:

  10. deathmonkey41 - Mar 9, 2012 at 7:25 PM

I heard the real father was Kenan Thompson who was just saying he was David Ortiz. I guess telling chicks you’re the guy from Good Burger just doesn’t work all that well.
