Nolan Reimold returns to Orioles lineup four days after being hit in the face

Nolan Reimold was hit in the face by a pitch Friday, but the Orioles outfielder somehow avoided a serious injury and is back in the lineup today.

Alex Cobb of the Rays plunked Reimold in the left cheek, but a chipped tooth is the worst of the damage and Brittany Ghiroli reports that he already got that fixed at the dentist.

So he’s good to go and won’t even be wearing any extra protection on his helmet, which certainly qualifies as “brave” if you’re being generous about word choice.

After an up-and-down past two seasons Reimold is fighting Endy Chavez for playing time in left field.

As Nolan himself stated today, with a left hander going today the chances of an accidental beaning are close to nil.
