Back from injury, Felix Pie returns to lineup … on Pi Day

Mar 14, 2012, 12:48 PM EDT

pi day

Today is national Pi Day–not to be confused with “cake or pie?” day, which is every day here at HBT–so it’s only fitting that Felix Pie is returning to the Indians’ lineup after crashing into the outfield wall over the weekend.

And yes, I know in this case “Pie” isn’t pronounced like “pie” or “pi” … whatever. Don’t ruin my nerd fun.

Pie had been day-to-day with what the Indians were calling “general stiffness.” Which, really, would be one of the best possible names for a military leader.

OK, I’m done now. Sorry.

Back in the day WCW (pro-rasslin’) had a faction MIA with Hugh Morris as Gen. Rection… and yes, he kept his first name Hugh…

… Major Gunns, she was their valet/ manager.

    Thise were equally good names.

Pi-day, pi-day, gotta get down on pi-day! Centimeters in the front seat, radians in the back seat…question is, which method of the expression of circumference should I take?

This is great news, but I heard Euler Constance (recovering from a compound fracture) can’t break into the lineup because of a log jam.

Pie is too cool for school. Pi on the other hand….

We may disagree on pie Jonny, but we still have both Doc and The Wild Thing in common.

I’m not a big fan of the wild thing, ya know. All that giving up pitches on a tee for Carter to hit all that stuff. ;) BTW Halladay is having trouble finding 90 with his fastball so far. Do I freak out yet?

3/14/15 is the only true Pi day.
