J.D. Martinez won’t hire you if you don’t make him vomit

That is, if you’re trying to be his personal trainer. Martinez, an outfielder for the Astros, was looking to hire one. And this was the audition:

“I told him, ‘If you don’t make me puke in the first week, I’m not going to come back’ ” Martinez said.

Nick Casazza needed about 10 minutes to accomplish that … Martinez, 24, remembers that first week for “puking everywhere” and for this: “I knew then he was going to be the trainer I was going to be with.”

Yay?

If he’s looking for a batting coach that will make him puke, I’m guessing Bobby Valentine will be available at the end of the season. Or sooner.

Some quotes just cry out for a wicked post, but I have to say he’s got me at a loss. I had a brief flashback to Stephen Fry puking in “The Crying Game”, but we will move on from there.

I will say, though, that he is having a great Spring Training. He must have known what he needed.

Guess he wanted to be in the best shape of his life. Finally a player who is willing to work hard and take criticism in order to get better.

So he wants a really, really ugly trainer?
