Ryan Braun was a late scratch from today’s game with a strained groin and manager Ron Roenicke revealed that the reigning MVP has been playing through the injury for several weeks.

Adam McCalvy of reports that the injury “flared up yesterday after Braun started against the Rangers.”

Braun is expected to sit out tomorrow as well and the Brewers have Thursday off, so he won’t be back in the lineup before Friday.

Braun, whose 50-game suspension was overturned last month, has played at least 150 games in each of his four full seasons in the majors.

    Did he injure it peeing?

  2. wondroushippo - Mar 20, 2012 at 4:20 PM

Well, I guess that gives us a clue as to how he celebrated getting off his suspension.

Haha, we all know the connection between Braun and “flaring up”

Fitting that it is a groin injury

Generic “Ryan Braun does steroids a lot” comment.

I know this is a hater thing to say but I hope he has an epic failure of a year

Last spring he probably would have been able to use PEDs to recover from this type of injury without missing any reps in the spring training games.

  9. zacksdad - Mar 20, 2012 at 5:30 PM

    1. Hurt it after running from the bus that he threw the collector under.
    2. Did not follow the correct shipping procedure of his groin to spring training.
    3. Laughing too hard that they bought his lawyers reasons to have the test thrown out of “showing him guilty of PEDs”.

Bully for Lyin Braun. He’s got an excuse in the hopper ready to go to explain why he’ll have a drop in his power numbers this season.

He’s waiting for Bud to rub it for him…again…

All of you guys who were singing the praises of the Brewers, forget it. Hear that Craig? They are going to fight to stay out of the basement in the central.

Groin injuries healed faster when he was on PED’s

  14. bravojawja - Mar 21, 2012 at 10:23 AM

Why the hell is he playing through any kind of injury during Spring Training? It’s not like he’s a rookie or Aging Veteran fighting for a job. Take the time to get healthy for Opening Day; otherwise, he’ll be playing through this same injury for 162 games, and that’s just stupid.
