As a Rays fan, I can tell you that great starting pitching can overcome a mediocre to bad offense. Just tread water until you get the calvary back and they will be poised to make a run in the second half.

Twice already I have said that us Phils phans will look back at the end of the year and wonder why the team didn’t do more this offseason to sign a veteran infielder. Granted, I said that b/c I was fearful of Martinez having to start 120 games due to other injuries. But, now it may be worse.

Now playng first base, Bugs Bunny, now playing second base, Bugs Bunny, now playing third base, Bugs Bunny…in this case can Hunter Pence be Bugs Bunny????

The Phillies will play opening day with approximately 2 1/2 dudes who can honestly be considered “everyday players.”
