No one wants poor Kelvin De La Cruz

Kevin De La Cruz

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Kelvin De La Cruz pitch. In the normal course, I probably wouldn’t notice him if he fell out of the sky, landed on my head and started to wiggle.  But I am fascinated with his odyssey through the transactions wire this offseason. To review:

I feel like I should call him up and offer him a bowl of soup or something.

I hope he’s going to minor league camp or something. If he’s out of the Cleveland organization again, dude is going to have some abandonment issues.

He’s a lefty. He’ll eventually get picked up.

Word is that the Rangers did the Indians a solid by picking him up and holding onto him on the 40 for a bit before giving him back. As someone who has seen him pitch, he is the type of guy who should bounce around a bunch of organizations. He has the ability to show electric stuff, but no idea where the strike zone is. I expect a bunch of pitching coaches to think they can “fix” him.
