Carlos Beltran sent Jon Niese the $10,000 for his nose job

Prior to being traded to the Giants last season Carlos Beltran encouraged Mets teammate Jon Niese to get a nose job and even said he’d pay for it.

Niese had the rhinoplasty surgery in October, but when he showed up to spring training with a new schnoz he wasn’t certain if Beltran would actually cover the $10,000 bill.

Beltran later promised that he would and sure enough Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports that Niese received a check from the now-Cardinals right fielder.

On one hand telling someone they need a nose job is probably frowned upon, but on the other hand paying $10,000 for them to get that recommended nose job seems mostly nice. In related news, tonight I’m going wig shopping for Calcaterra.

Good on Beltran. He was an underrated met who the fans never warmed up to. And he was,no doubt, stained by the called 3rd strike against the cards. With that said, will he have surgery to remove that cocoa puff on his ear?

If Niese has some kind of crazy season I wonder how many other pitchers will be rocking a new schnoz next spring training.

Now Niese is going to have to learn to open sunflower seeds with his teeth. It’s gonna be ugly for a while.

..and let’s be clear it wasn’t for aesthetic reasons that Beltran made the offer.

10k for a nose job, wow he must have had one hell of a honker.

There is so much more you can do with 10k other than give it to another millionaire for a nose job! Help a Charity or someone in need! I understand he might already do that stuff but when you give another millionaire 10k for a nose job, that’s pretty pathetic. What a professional….Nice gesture but seriously.

Niese’s career earnings aren’t $1 mil. If you’re so worried about what others do with their money, then run for Congress. Either that or stop wasting your time commenting and go volunteer somewhere with your free time.

Find a 2k nosejob and pocket the 8.

That was very niese of Beltran. Who nose if another teammate would have footed the bill.
