David Wright to make his spring debut today

Mar 26, 2012, 9:11 AM EDT

Over the weekend we heard that David Wright may make his spring debut on Tuesday against the Braves. But the Mets Twitter feed tells us differently today:

Wright tore his rectus abdominis (no, not that) earlier this month and has been taking it slowly, but he’s apparently ready to roll.  Which represents some rare good news from Mets land these days.

Wright and Santana both playing today. Gonna be holding my breath for so long I might turn as blue as my Mets cap.

“Wright and Santana both playing today.” A rare event. Kind of like Venus and Jupiter in Conjunction…

They’ll be on the DL by the 3rd inning.

    Wright to the Braves?

Wright to the Braves is not going to happen, but out of curiousity what would you be willing to give the Mets for him?

He’s making 15 million this season and the trade would eliminate the club option the Mets currently hold on him and make him a free agent at the end of the season. And the new CBA also mandates that the Braves would not receive compensatory draft picks for him if he left after this season.

Based on those facts and the fact he is coming off an injury (and missed time this spring)I assume you would give the Mets much right?

He says it in every thread.
