Josh Outman has the worst DL trip ever

Apr 4, 2012, 6:38 AM EDT

Josh Outman AP

Poor Josh Outman. The Rockies had to put their pitcher on the disabled list last night. Why? Here’s how I heard it:

Oh, man.  How did that happen? His brother Zach elaborates:

Food poisoning from Denny’s, eh?  So, I guess what Zach is saying is that Josh …. gave up a grand slam.

Where’s the Wheel of Fortune losing SX when you need it.

Too many bad puns, too little time…
To Josh Outman: sorry ’bout the injury, man. That blows.

ShhhhhhhhBoom!! Wish I was quicker on the reply!

      • cur68 - Apr 4, 2012 at 8:47 AM

Hey! stex! You ok there in South Texas? Looks like a lil bit a weather landed in your laps.

      • stex52 - Apr 4, 2012 at 9:05 AM

It was hell on them up in Dallas. Down around Houston we just got some decent thunderstorms. Dallas tends to have worse weather (absent hurricanes) because the warm Gulf air meets the cool, dry continental air up in north Texas.

        But thanks for asking.

      • cur68 - Apr 4, 2012 at 9:37 AM

Glad you’re cool. I was just kinda concerned, ’cause I know how big Texas is, so Dallas weather isn’t really your weather. Still and all, I wouldn’t want anything to happen to the ‘Stros only fan, y’know?

I do occasionally see a couple of notes from names I recognize from the Astros’ site, but it is a little sketchy. It’s been a tough team to be a fan of for the last four years.

In the meantime I fall back on the standard backup for older Houston fans, the Cards. And I will root for yours and Gator’s teams to throw a few monkey wrenches into all of the writers’ safe predictions on this blog.

This one gives new meaning to the term “hurler.”

I hate to admit it, but I stole that one from the NY Daily News. (Let me clarify, I don’t hate to admit that I stole the line…I hate to admit that I read the Daily News.)

      • cur68 - Apr 4, 2012 at 9:44 AM

I think I wrote 4 or 5 replies to this post, all with some sort of “hurler” theme and “Outman” bent. Rejected them all as too obvious. Now I’m looking at ll these comments, seeing that no one else has any such compunctions about obvious puns and wishing I’d got in the first “Hurler, Josh Outman, blows grad slam” jab. Dang.

Always go with your gut, man. Unless you’re Josh Outman, in which case it’d be best not to go with your gut.

      • cur68 - Apr 4, 2012 at 10:10 AM

Ok, that made me laugh. FTW.

What dish would never give anyone food poisoning?

Moons over my hammy. My personal favorite. I mean when the moons are over my hammy, well that’s just so awesome in so many ways.

Excellent use of the CSI: Miami meme at the end, Craig.
