I also want to clarify. I don’t want Yankees players to get hurt. I was just commenting on the fact that if Montero-Pineda trade happens to be a bomb for New York, well, there are far greater tragedies in the world.

Wasn’t just the bad ERA, he didn’t look good at all. Too many hard hit balls, wasn’t getting them down. Control was there but command definitely wasn’t. Got lucky the NYMedia had a hardon for Pineda though.

Nova had a high ERA well in spring training. His position in the rotation could be shaky.

Better to play it safe then be sorry later. Besides with their current starting rotation and Andy looking more and more like he’ll be ready the end of April or the beginning of May there is no need to push him.

Phelps who is already going to be in the bullpen as the long relief guy is more then capable of filling in for a start or 2 if need be and that’s not counting either DJ Mitchell or Warren just a phone call away in Triple A.
