What have the Marlins done with the real Carlos Zambrano?

Ozzie Guillen is amazing. Not only does he create a political firestorm, but he has also given Carlos Zambrano a personality transplant:

Words you will seldom hear from Marlins pitcher Carlos Zambrano:

“I think I was just too calm.”

Zambrano, known for a trigger temper that has gotten him in several jams during his 10-year career, blamed his rough first inning Sunday on being too at ease.

Forget Toradol, someone find whatever drug it is calming down Carlos Zambrano and ban it immediately. It has to be so powerful that no one besides him could ever hope to use it safely.

    “Zambrano calm?” Does…not…compute…

Maybe he realized that no matter how crappy he pitches he is still going to get paid a crap load of money.

from the looks of that pic it’s more likely there’s either a teddybear or Slobbering Ozzie voodoo doll than a baseball. Whatever he’s on is no joke, that’s for sure.

For some reason – totally subjective, of course – that picture reminds me of Eddie Murphy standing in his royal bathtub early in Coming to America.

Not buying it. Did the same thing with the Cubs multiple times. Came back “with a whole new attitude” even after anger counseling, and always ended back at the same place – throwing a tantrum at umpires, teammates, closet monkey, whatever. Give it time.
