From beat writer Andy Martino of the New York Daily News comes word that Mets third baseman David Wright has been diagnosed with a small fracture near the middle of his right pinkie finger.

Wright doesn’t need surgery, but he has been put in a protective splint and will be sidelined indefinitely.

The Mets will reevaluate him on Wednesday and attempt to come up with a recovery timetable.

Wright suffered the injury Monday while diving back into a base on a pickoff attempt. The 29-year-old is 7-for-12 this season with a homer and four RBI. Ronny Cedeno filled in at the hot corner Tuesday night.

Where the eff is the write up on the 3-0 Tigers vs the 3-0 Rays and Matt Moore’s rookie season debt? I have a lot to say about that!

    About this?

David Wright injured for and extended length of time! Flipping DUH!

I remember when he was hyped as a top 10 player. They should just call him Eric Chavez.

And just as the Mutts were getting their delusions of grandeur up. There’s no justice.

Is it just me or are the Mets cursed with bad luck? Can anyone remember the last time something good happened to this organization?

Yes, the mets are cursed. The curse of Willie Randolph. And until they make amends and beg him to come back, they will continue to falter in the most unimaginable ways.

Braves get their 3b back and the Mets lose theirs on the same day.

I thought David Wright was Braves next 3b but maybe not?

David Wright is always hurt and the Mutts always stink.
