Jeremy Hellickson got hit in the head with a batting practice home run at Comerica Park this morning, but after being taken to an area hospital for tests, everything seems to be checking out OK.

He’ll have more tests tomorrow, but this is pretty good news, yes?  He should be cleared to make his next start, Saturday against the Red Sox.

Balls to your head can be quite traumatic.

I would say yes, good news. Being OK is subsantially better than severe head injuries, at least in my personal experience.

I’m surprised they don’t have a guy out there to catch anything that comes their way, or at least issue a heads-up…how many millions are they paying these guys? and they can’t enact any measure of protection that would be at a minimal cost to protect their investment?
