“His [bullpen sessions] have really been terrific,” A’s manager Bob Melvin said. “I’ve said often in Spring Training, if you were to watch him throw, you’d think he was rehabbing something else. He’s got the potential to be the top-of-a-rotation starter, and we probably look for that when it’s almost like a trade, a midseason trade when he comes back. We’re not trying to put an exact timetable to speed him up or anything, but he’s doing beautifully at this point.”
