He wasn’t looking all that productive the other night when he let the ball get past him in left. Signing Ibanez is a mistake that will come back to haunt the Yankees and I’ll be surprised if he’s not cut lose before the season is over. Grumpy or not I’d still rather have Posada at bat with the game on the line than Ibanez.

Ibanez already is the hero of one game and would have been one of the heros in a second win had the bullpen not blown a save. That is already a thousand times more the Yankees got out of Posada for the first two months of last year Craig.

Great to see them honoring him but Ibanez is less than one-tenth the price and already looking more productive.

there is no telling what will happen if someone realizes in the middle of his sendoff that Posada is better than his replacement.

He’d have to sign a 1 day minor-league contract first.
