A big reason he lost playing time is that Willingham ended up uncomfortable with switching to right field, and/or the team ended up not liking him there. That meant that RF was the open position and Revere’s arm was too big an issue to put him there every day.

In the end, this really means nothing to the team, this team isn’t gonna continue to lose games because Revere is in minors, its because our starting staff sucks and our middle relief is pretty blah as well.

Revere has only two things going for him: he’s fast and is an above average fielder. However, he can’t hit and he can’t throw. As long as Clete can stay healthy, he’ll be at least as valuable as Revere.

Given time, if he works at it, Revere could improve his plate discipline, maybe build up enough arm strength to be a viable option in the outfield. But he has a much better chance of doing so as an everyday player in the minors, instead of riding the pine as a 4th or 5th outfielder.
