He may be an entertainer and a showboat, but he certainly isn’t a “me-first” guy who doesn’t care about the team. He’s a great teammate by all accounts, beard or not.

Yeah, I mostly enjoy his schtick, but he is a little too self-aware at times.
On the other hand, anyone who thinks he is just a showboating self-promoter hasn’t been paying attention. Dude works incredibly hard on his game.

Actually Giants team doctors are considering a pioneering surgery where they use Wilson’s epic beard hair ro replace his UCL. Not only will he throw twice as hard, he should be healed and ready to go by next Monday.

I’m no Giants fan but I appreciate Wilson as a player and a character. Baseball WILL miss him. Let’s hope the surgery does the job and he’s back as good as or better than before.

I agree it’s hard to like a guy like Wilson unless he’s pitching for you. That’s why the haters are so petty. If its not blatantly obvious that Wilson had “it”, that is what “it” takes to be a fearless competitor in professional sports, then we all deserve our title of anonymous Internet pussy.

If the Giants put him on the 60-day disabled list, wouldn’t he be arb-eiligible again in 2014? He’s not going to accumulate much service time this year.
