He will see high A by June, then AA this time next year with a sept call up in 2013.

They are working in this system where he goes 3 innings for 3 games, then 4 innings for 3 games…and so on. This way he is going deeper into games later in the season without having to be shut down after 130 innings (the number of innings they want him to pitch this year). He is probably getting one, maybe two more starts before going up to Frederick.

There’s no way he starts next year in AA. Or at least, there’s no way he remains in A all year this year. Perhaps not the majors, but he’ll move up for sure

he gave up the baserunner because he overpowers low-a batters, and was working on a changeup. his changeup was clocked around 88. if he just threw his heater, he’d retire every batter faced easily. instead, he’s being smart and working on other pitches.
