Personally, I think 80% of all politicians at the national level put their own interests above those of the people that they are supposed to represent. If politicians put the interests of the people first (actual people, not corporations that are somehow now classified as “people”), and not the rich lobbyists’ interests, we would have a lot less hunger, crime, homelessness, etc. in this country. I love the USA, but politicians make my skin crawl.

I commend you for not using the tired cliche of “tax and spend Democrats.” But you do realize that the moron who lost the 2000 election, and yet occupied the Oval Office (2001-09) did more to bankrupt this country—both financially and morally—than anybody else in history, right?
