OK, the MLB press office is now trolling me about minor league suspensions

Yesterday I said that MLB waited until after 5pm to release the names of minor leaguers who were suspended for drugs. I think they’re messing with me now, because they released today’s at 3:38 PM.  Anyway:

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Los Angeles Dodgers Minor League pitcher Angel Guzman has received a 50-game suspension after a second violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program for a drug of abuse.

Guzman hasn’t been in the majors since 2009. In early 2010 he tore all kinds of stuff in his shoulder, and spent last year in A-ball. Guess it’s been a bad couple of years for him.

Remember, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you…

Or, people don’t care as much as you think they do.

3:30 on a Friday feels like 5 on any other day of the week. I’m sure they were just sending out the release as they were walking out the door to get an early start on the weekend like 85% of the country does.

No picture of him as a Dodger, eh? Had to use the Cubs logo, eh?

I remember how touted of a prospect he was. What a shame.

A “Drug of Abuse” suspension on 4/20. Nice!
