I’d like to know who from the Cardinals said they are reaching out. This makes no sense and you have to question the validity of this story. Of all the needs the Cards may have, a starting pitcher does not make the top 5 right now. And with the talent within I don’t think they need to do any shopping right now unless it’s an upgrade. Oswalt is not an upgrade to any of the current starting 5. The way Lynn is pitching the Cards can give Carp ample time to get back on the mound. Waino needs to keep pitching to get his groove back. So where would they put Oswalt? No place for him.

Where does this “gutless” come from? If you didn’t like how 2011 panned out for him, you might have a case. But if you think he’s gutless, you don’t know much about him at all.

And yes, it is very much like the talk that was swirling around Berkman early last year.

The gutless Oswalt will be on the DL sooner than later. Time away from family is part of the deal for any major leaguer. If the Cards are desperate enough to sign him, they will get what they deserve – regrets.

No one questioned Berkman’s work ethic. That comparison is completely irrelevant. The Cards hardly broke the bank in signing him. Because they thought he was a health risk like other teams did.

He already told St. Louis he will be joining them when the kids are done school and not earlier as long as they are winning, but sooner if in trouble. He also said he wants nothing to do with the soap opera in Boston because he does not like to play with players who are me me me players who show no respect for their managers. Very surprised BR does not know this since he told many pals already.

Comparing Oswalt to Berkman is relevant. The comparison is that Berkman’s anomalous 2010 season was impacted by injury—not to mention the change in locale from Houston to New York. Oswalt’s 2011 season was anomalous due to injury. So yes, they are comparable.

I sure hope your family never needs anything more than the bare minimum out of you. ‘Cause, ya know, if you drop everything less important to you to help them, that might mean you have no heart—or maybe brain.

He went to make sure his family was okay while there was a rash of tornadoes constantly churning through the area. Clearing crap from his property reduced stuff to be picked up and thrown around. By the way, there are times that just being with family is enough.

Don’t forget that he had to make sure the property was clear of Flying Monkeys also. They’ve been known to follow tornados…especially when someone is searching for a heart.

If the stats I presented only went back ten years ago, then maybe your argument wouldn’t appear so obviously thick-headed. But you only have to go back to 2010, where Oswalt once again was among the league leaders in starts.

Much like Yankee fans bashing of Berkman for a lackluster 2010 year, where he was regaining strength from serious knee surgery, the “throw the bum out” philosophy because a gutsy, consummate pro has an off year due to a combination of back problems and family devastation, you and your sorry psyche finds it proper to condemn him cause his performance wasn’t what you had hoped, damned be any rational explanation.

Oswalt is gutless and injury prone. Wow, he led the league in starts 8 years ago. Really significant now.

He showed last year that he is both shot physically and has no heart. A bad teammate with a bad back.
