I’m sorry to read this stuff – when your childhood idol (well, I was 53 at the time he came up, which from here looks like childhood) goes through the floor inexplicably and then spends seven years knocking around trying to stay in the show, and then pulls a Krazy Kalos Lamebraino move, it’s, well, disillusioning.

Then again, we are getting the angle from Duquette. Not that a guy in his situation should be anything but grateful for yet another shot, but who knows what Dontrelle was led to believe they’d use him for when he signed with the Orioles?

do you follow the reds on a regular basis or are just the president of the dusty fan club? you act like I just make my statements up about him but trust me if you followed the reds you would know it’s true. he does not try and hide it and proudly admits trying to steal a extra inning from his starters. except of course last week when Arroyo was pitching the game of his life and still going strong allowing 3 hits in 7 innings but baker took him out after he got the first batter of the inning out with no problem due to the nats sending up a pinch hitter. guess what the guy he brought in to replace him promptly blew the lead and the reds lost in 13 but decisions like that are ok in your book?every once in awhile it would be annoying but no big deal but he does this all the time! I wish he would could be the manager of your team and I beat you would be singing a sifferent tune.

You know, for everything that we’ve been told about how great a guy Dontrelle Willis is, this is surprising. I’m sure most people have just wanted to walk away from their job at some point, but who actually does it? Willis had a couple of good years nearly a decade ago and he thinks he’s entitled to dictate where he is best used? Good luck finding another job that will pay several hundred thousand dollars a year.

aside from having to suffer thru the god awful ad this a great song and video. to bad about the d-train though. forget what the stats say he did well for the reds last year. I lost count how many times he left a game with a lead only to watch as bullpen blow it or leave behind 2-0 after his 5 and then have the reds come back to win. he had 2 really horrible starts for them other than that just had the worst luck. plus when he did give 6 good innings baker of course insisted on sending him back out there for a 7th where he he gave up the lead because he did not have it anymore and everybody but baker could see it.

It must be incredibly difficult to transition from a young-phenom on a World Series winning team, to hearing that you’re going to the bullpen, and that you’re… well, not an ideal candidate to start at this point.
