Peavy had only thrown 9 complete games in his career until last night, none in his Cy Young season (2007).

Agreed (and both the difficulty of the shutout and the well wishes for Peavy).

That game I saw ended so quickly that as I drove home (Hollywood, at the time) and went by Dodger Stadium, the game there was only just ending.

Even at Petco it’s never easy to pitch a shutout. It’s very nice to see Peavy begin to turn things around, I hope he dazzles.

Last night was Peavy’s 3rd shutout as a member of the White Sox. I was shocked to learn that matches his shutout total as a Padre: http://bbref.com/pi/shareit/V2PEm

I figured he would’ve had more, being so good for many years in such a pitcher’s park. Perhaps my expectations were skewed by having been at Petco for one of those shutouts, when he out-dueled Roger Clemens in a game that lasted all of 1:53.
