No way a 6 foot tall right handed high school pitcher with workload concerns goes #1. Too much chance for second guessing if he fails.

Indeed. MASN tries to make this into some big rivalry (The Battle of the Beltways) and having the teams’ announcers work together during the home-and-home series. However, for it to be a rivalry, both teams need to be good. The Nats are getting there, the Orioles are a ways away.

Strasburg and Harper may have been considered once-in-a-generation prospects, but the prospect hounds at Baseball America and elsewhere are pretty high on Machado and Bundy. So the Orioles have hope. Unless, of course, Angelos finds another way to screw it up.

He is in Delmarva so they can have a 6 man staff and he can have two bullpens between starts. They are using the extra bullpen to work on his change up.

I don’t think the kids at High A are going to be much better equipped to deal with him.

I don’t think he gets challenged till this summer in Bowie.

For all the fanfare the Nationals have received, and deservedly so, with the Strasburg/Harper combo from back-to-back drafts…don’t sleep on the Orioles and their Machado/Bundy combo on back-to-back drafts.

Fun, little battle to watch develop in the Baltimore/DC area that doesn’t involve MASN.
