OK, this is pretty cute. Josh Willingham, who’s away from the Twins on paternity leave, welcomes his son into the world:
I predict the kid will be terrorizing left-handed pitchers by 2035.

Well, I didn’t look like I was shouting at him, but I had a similar scene just this morning, welcoming my first son into the world as he was delivered by c-section…

(I should add, I’m holding him in my arm, and typing this with my other hand. And I will raise him to be a right and proper Cardinals fan. His grandma and great-grandma have already gotten him his first Cards gear ;p)

Congrats! There is no better feeling in the world than the satisfaction of being a good parent. Mine are closer to Josh Willingham’s age than to his son’s, but I still remember the wonderful feeling of welcoming them into the world and then watching them grow into the special people they are. I hope you can have the same fortune.

Okay, I haven’t been in that spot in a little over 11 years, but I can still remember feeling like my feet weren’t even touching the ground at that very moment. Well done Mr. & Mrs Willingham!
