Delmon Young‘s stint on the restricted list could be a brief one.

According to Danny Knobler of, Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski said this afternoon that Young could return to the lineup as soon as Tuesday if he is cleared following an evaluation by MLB.

Lynn Henning of the Detroit News reports that doctors for MLB and MLBPA must agree on Young’s ability to play minus alcohol or “anger management” challenges before he’s cleared to return. Dombrowski expects to get a full report Monday and it’s possible Young will be advised to undergo some sort of treatment or counseling in the wake of his hate-crime arrest.

Lastly, Knobler notes that Young will be paid for the time he spends on the restricted list.

Well as long as he starts hitting. Otherwise he can chill for awhile.

I don’t see how the police have a leg to stand on here- according to most of the posters in that thread about the Cleveland Indian’s mascot, it’s not possible to be racist against white people.

Tigers training staff needs a few days to convert the gatorade jugs and fill them with vodka.

Please do NOT assume that this MOron is a Bruins fan.

Why are the media networks not reporting on Detroit Tigers ball player Delmon Young’s anti semantic remarks along with him being arrested for a hate crime. Why is it that Rev. Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton are not demanding that Delmon Young make a public apology…sounds like there’s a double standard.

      AMEN to that!!!

There’s certainly a double standard. This drunk dude Young should be given lots of community service in a Jewish neighborhood.
