I saw the same thing you saw. He didn't seem to be running full speed when he got to the bag. He slid in, caught the bag with his back foot, put his front foot down, and it happened to be on the SS foot. The SS pulled away, carrying Longo's foot with it, and "tweaking" his knee. He grabbed the back of his knee, and without being an arthroscopic surgeon, I'd guess strain. I think and hope it is day to day, because without him, the Rays are in trouble. I saw something the other day that said from August til now, Evan lead MLB in either HR, OPS, or Slugging, and I don't remember where the link was.

This is why Zobrist is so valuable. His numbers don't tell the entire story. He has played right field a lot this year, but he could be St Pete's 3b if Longo goes down. Matsui goes to right, platoons with Joyce, and your right field has a.900 OPS with good bats on the bench. Tampa Bay is in incredible position. McGee looks like a closer, and Davis is killing it out of the pen. Perhaps it's time to cash in that Wade Davis chip. 1.86 era out of the pen through 10.1 innings.
