Nick Swisher out of Yankees lineup with hamstring injury

Apr 30, 2012, 4:16 PM EDT

Nick Swisher, who left yesterday’s game with a hamstring injury, is out of the Yankees’ lineup for tonight’s matchup with the Orioles.

In his place the Yankees are starting utility infielder Eduardo Nunez in left field, with Raul Ibanez shifting from left field to right field.

Nunez has been playing professional baseball since 2006 and has a grand total of one career inning as a left fielder, while Ibanez’s best position defensively is designated hitter.

Good luck, Hiroki Kuroda!

Strange, the Yankees said he won’t be available before NEXT Tuesday, but will play shorthanded and not put him on the DL.

The Yankee lineup will be hamstrung for a while. Jeter had better stay hot.
