The off-season surgery consisted of (among other things) reattaching the tendon to the bone on the non-thumb side of his wrist. Doesn’t surprise me (not that I’m not saddened by it) that it is troubling him considering the amount of stress placed upon that connection with every swing of the bat.

Not sure what Morneau you’ve seen, but i’ve seen him in public multiple times and he always signs autographs and talks to the fans. He is a big hockey fan, and i’ve seen him multiple times and briefly talked to him twice at Wild games in Minnesota and every time he was sitting with the general population(not a Suite or club level) and was taking the time to sign autographs and what not.

Mauer is a nice guy, morneau, not so much. Very little interaction with the fans, always avoiding it if it’s not a photo op.

I think Justin’s days are numbered in Minnesota. I think that’s a good thing. Mauer, the franchise, will have the opportunity to move to 1st, where he’ll have to play if he wants to play at a high level for many years.

The M and M boys of MInnesota have no luck. Few years ago Mauer and Morneau were the two brightest young stars in MLB.
They seem like two real good guys. I hope they can recover what they once had.

God this kid is a hard luck story. Even as a Yankees fan I have to wish him the best he’s been through and seems to be continuing to go through a lot.
