I have nothing but contempt and loathing for McAsshat, but I have no issues with Magic sitting with him or speaking about him. Magic, as the face of the franchise, had to play nice while the sale closed.

Folks have focused on Magic, which was both inevitable and planned. But Kasten is the guy responsible for improving the product on the field. His track record in Atlanta and Washington isn’t shabby. He also has some clout with MLB HQ, which won’t hurt.

When Stan came to Washington, there was optimism because of his success at building the Braves’ organization. Not everything went smoothly on his watch (see Jim Bowden’s tenure as GM and the Dominican baseball academy scandal), but he left to Mike Rizzo a much better organization than he found. (Granted, what he found was a mess),

Were I a Dodgers fan, knowing Kasten’s record, I’d be optimistic. Just don’t expect instant gratification. Part of Stan’s Plan (as some of us Nats fans called it) involves developing a top-notch farm system, and that takes time.

I hope new ownership also means a Dodger Stadium renovation.I love the ballpark but it is in need of some modernization.Dont let it turn into Fenway

Listened to some of the press conference today, and there were still quite a few questions about McCourt and the parking lot land…….Walter was pretty smooth, always referring to “prior ownership” rather than McCourt…..Magic seemed a little put out by the questions, but after his fawning compliment about Frank the day of the sale and sitting with him on Opening Day, maybe he still needs a few reminders about the animus many fans feel about McCourt…..

But if the team continues to play as well as it has, everyone will be happy…..winning cures everything

Pedro Guerrero was awesome Ian. And you doubled up on my childhood memories by throwing in a John Tudor reference. Thanks for that.
On a side note…it’s kind of ironic Craig (and now you and I) are remembering Pedro today with all the talk the last couple of days about baseball players using the nose candy.
If memory serves…Pedro got popped for that as well.
DISCLAIMER: I mean nothing by that whatsoever. I just found it ironic.

Welcome, we are VERY happy to see you! (And yes, Pedro Guerrero was pretty awesome, until he was traded for the bag of bones that resembled John Tudor)

First order of business, please relegate Needle Head Ned Colletti to the position of former G.M. He has been impersonating a competent G.M. for far too long.

If that is the last time I ever see McAsshat’s face, I will be a very happy person.
