Alderson seems to be an awfully level-headed man, who has no problem with making short-term unpopular decisions (Not going crazy and signing Jose Reyes, for example) if he thinks they’ll be the right thing for the club in the long-term. Whether or not his decisions will pan out long term obviously remains to be seen, but it’s nice to see that he’s not one to panic and do something like call up a player early. If it’s wasn’t the right decision before the injury to Pelfrey, it’s not the right decision after the injury.
