Middlebrooks should have been pulled from the game after he pulled up lame going into second. Yes, he was still able to maneuver around the bases, but only in a station to station fashion. He definitely wasn't running full speed.

IIRC, Middlebrooks has never played left field. Why in the world would you want to put him out there? The Red Sox have a horrible fielding outfield as it is, putting Middlebrooks out there just makes it worse, especially when the Red Sox pitchers overall are pitching like garbage. The last thing the Red Sox can afford to have is more errors committed, and then expect their crappy pitching staff to bail them out of error induced tough situations. Their pitching staff has enough trouble getting people out in an error free game.

The problem with the Red Sox isn't their offense. Their offense isn't the best in the world by any stretch of the imagination, but by no means should it be the top priority for the team.

It's the same curse the mets got after firing Willie Randolph. The mets will have to rehire Willie, publicly admit that they were wrong and pay him his salary, retroactively since firing him. The Mets won't ever win anything until they do that. I think the RS are in the same boat. Tito was the only classy thing to ever have graced the state of Massachussets and new England. They had better fix that.

If Boston didn't have bad luck, they wouldn't have any luck at all. This guy gets off to a blazing start and then the hamstring. I hope Tito didn't put a curse on them.

I'm so glad that the Sox fired their entire medical and conditioning team for incompetence last year.

It really seems to be paying off so far.

He still ran the bases/scored after he hit his double so it doesn't look serious. Let's friggin hope not, we don't have the depth to absorb the loss if it is. But I'm pretty in favor of shifting him to LF when that happens. Let Ross/Sweeney be the platoon in RF.
