As for Lind, classic case of one year where everything clicked and now opposing pitchers have him figured out and he has failed to counter punch.

I can think of a few players who are not earning their contracts including Pujols and Arod. You just never know if a player will earn what they are paid. In the case of Lind, he was clearly underpaid in 2009.

Well, since 2007 Lind has had at least 311 PAs each year and his wRC+ have been 72, 96, 139, 89, 95, and 73 (this year). Like most bad contracts, the Jays paid a guy based on his career year as if it represented a new level of performance rather than natural variation about a mean. It may be more obvious now that 2009 was an outlier, but waiting one more year to see if he could repeat that year wouldn’t have cost them much if he did…and would have saved them a lot when he didn’t.

Guerrero is probably a better option than Lind at DH, but E5 isn’t called E5 for nothing: he can commit errors any position willy nilly, without regard for rhyme or reason. Some even call him Iron Glove. I prefer the thought of him at DH. Vladdy in the bench as a bench bat and Cooper a shot at 1B. Adam Lind? Trade him for bullpen help. Bundle him up with Snider and send him off for a long reliever of set up man. Please.
