David Ortiz was unharmed after being involved in a mulitcar accident on Boylston Street while traveling to Friday’s game at Fenway Park.

He remains in the lineup at designated hitter.

An eyewitness told Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston that Ortiz suffered some damage to the left side of his Audi R8 and that the car was taken in for repairs. Ortiz was seen joking at scene afterwards.

The accident comes just two days after Red Sox P.A. announcer Carl Beane suffered a heart attack behind the wheel and died in a one-car crash.

    Very spooky, I think.

If you have ever been around Massachusetts drivers…it is not spooky at all.

Boston is a horror show to drive in. I’ve gotten used to it over the years but it still puts my nerves on edge.

Glad Ortiz is okay…it seems like someone put a curse on the Red Sox this year.

Did Francona visit a witch doctor over the winter?

I grew up in central Mass, and now live in PHX. It is much worse here.

Audi r8 is a mint car! Rs4 is better performance at 4.2 sec 0-601

This must be some sort of speed record?

Hope it doesn’t hurt his golf game. Beckett can’t afford to lose a golf buddy right now.

Massachusetts drivers are absolutely the worst. Every time I go up to New England (which has been a lot lately as my sister is wrapping up her senior year at Brandeis), I’m pleasantly surprised that people haven’t reacted to the Yankees sticker and license plate frame on my car by trying to run me off the road and/or slash my tires. That said, I’m glad nobody got significantly hurt today. The Red Sox have suffered a lot lately.

Just saw this story. Glad he’s ok. From what I hear he does a lot of children’s charity work. Rivalry and cheating aside, he appears to be a pretty good guy.
